Sophie Whitehouse-Knight from @sophieclarewhite_ wanted to transform an awkward, uncomfortable and uninspiring space into a calming, welcoming family bathroom, while maintaining her overall style. Successfully blending the origins of the 1930s Sheffield property with more modern design in a complimentary manner was vital, which made the integration of Yorkshire Tiles all the more central to the design concept. With a focus on 'slow renovation', focusing on one room at a time, getting the details right before progressing to the next was another key aspect. This illustrates the underlying care and consideration within this renovation, blending the past and present, spending time to create the right result and, eventually, a bathroom that can become a long-term family hub.
"The biggest issue was that it just didn’t feel comfortable or enjoyable to use. The shower was really small and quite flimsy. The bath didn’t really fit the space properly and was so uncomfortable. Overall the room just felt quite flat and uninspiring, which isn’t ideal when you actually spend so much time in there.. especially with two little ones who need bathing every night."
"We wanted to create a space that felt calm, elevated and somewhere we actually wanted to spend time in. It needed to work practically for family life, but also feel like a bit of an escape at the end of the day. The goal was to turn it from a purely functional space into something that felt considered and enjoyable to use every day."

Bathroom renovation with The Yorkshire Tile Company
"The Roper Rhodes pieces have really elevated the space and given it that polished, premium feel."
"I’m always drawn to softer, more neutral interiors that feel quite timeless. I wanted the bathroom to have that same feel. I love spaces that feel warm and layered but still really clean and minimal. Having everything designed and supplied by The Yorkshire Tile Company made it much easier to keep the look cohesive and really bring that vision together!!"
"For me it’s the overall finish of everything. All the details feel so high-end and considered, it genuinely feels like being in a luxury hotel bathroom rather than our own home!! The Roper Rhodes pieces have really elevated the space and given it that polished, premium feel, it honestly feels like our own little piece of heaven now."
