Elsa’s bathroom renovation began with an awkward, cramped layout that lacked both light and functionality. With a bulky bath, limited space, and a window blocked by a neighbouring house, the room felt dark and impractical. Her goal was to create a bright, classic space that complemented her home’s period features while remaining flexible for future updates. Inspired by thoughtful hotel design, Elsa prioritised a spacious walk-in shower, clever storage, and a practical vanity area. The result is a timeless yet contemporary bathroom, where refined hardware and carefully chosen materials make the biggest impact, striking the perfect balance between style and everyday usability.
Elsa’s design was inspired by creating a bright, classic bathroom that complements her home’s period character. She chose a neutral palette with nickel hardware and an oak vanity for flexibility over time. Influenced by hotel details, she included a walk-in shower with external controls and a framed niche for storage. A love of getting ready led to a marble vanity with generous space, blending practicality with understated elegance.
"The layout was awkward as I have the boiler in there and the bath took up too much space so I knew we wanted to move the orientation or the sink and have a bigger shower. It was also very dark as the window faced the side of the neighbours house blocking all natural light."

I also loved the idea of a niche with cornice trim to keep shower products neatly stored. As I enjoy getting ready in the bathroom, having a vanity with generous space around the sink was important. When I discovered the Walcot collection in marble, it felt like the perfect fit."
“The taps and hardware make the biggest impact - they strike the perfect balance between contemporary and timeless. They’re refined without feeling overly fussy or too modern. The Walcot collection in particular feels beautifully unique, which I love.”
