Inspired by boutique hotels and luxury spas, this renovation combines joyful design details, rich colour and clever storage solutions to create a space that feels both practical and indulgent. Despite its fairly compact footprint, every inch has been thoughtfully considered to maximise organisation, reduce clutter and bring a sense of calm. The result is a warm, welcoming bathroom that works hard for the whole family while offering a little everyday luxury.

What was the main challenge with your old bathroom?

"The old bathroom was a dingy, tired, grotty space straight out of the 90s. It was falling apart in places & really difficult to clean & keep clean for that matter. It completely lacked personality. Storage was another major issue – with children in the house and my growing collection of beauty & health products, there was never enough space to keep everything organised, so the room often felt cluttered and chaotic."

What was the brief for the bathroom renovation?

"The brief was to create a bathroom that felt special and full of character while still being practical for family life. I wanted a space that brought a sense of joy every day – somewhere I could escape, unwind, and enjoy a little luxury. It's not the biggest space to work with so clever storage solutions were essential to keep children’s bath toys & essentials and my beauty products neatly organised and easily accessible."

What inspired your design choices?

"I wanted the bathroom to feel more like a boutique hotel or spa than just a functional family bathroom. Rich textures, beautiful joyful finishes, and thoughtful details all played a part in creating a room with personality and warmth. The design balances practicality with indulgence, ensuring the space works hard for everyday family life while still feeling like a retreat."

What makes the biggest difference in your new bathroom?

"The biggest difference is how the room makes me feel. What was once a grim, outdated space is now somewhere I genuinely enjoy spending time. The addition of smart storage in the Burford Fitted Furniture has transformed the day-to-day functionality, giving everything a home and keeping surfaces clutter free. Combined with the characterful design wallpaper and calming atmosphere, it has become a joyful space where the whole family can get ready for the day, and where I can take a moment to switch off and relax as s busy working Mum."
