This renovation began with a simple frustration: a separate toilet across the hall from the main bathroom. The brief was to bring everything into one space, practical for family life, but also full of character and calm. Inspired by traditional English country bathrooms, the design evolved naturally rather than feeling imposed. The result is a room that finally feels whole, as though it was always meant to be this way.

What was the biggest challenge with your old bathroom?

"The main challenge was that the toilet was separate from the main bathroom and located across the hall. Bringing everything into one room has made it a much more practical and usable family space."

The brief was to create a space that felt as though it had always belonged to the house — full of beauty, character and a quiet sense of calm. Somewhere tranquil to retreat to, while honouring the age and story of the property.

What makes the biggest difference in your new bathroom?

"I think it’s the way the room finally feels whole. Bringing the toilet into the main bathroom has allowed the space to come together as one — somewhere that feels complete, considered and quietly beautiful, as though it was always meant to be this way."
