Taking on a listed building can present some unique challenges, as Sophie discovered. We helped her realise her dream to make a cosy bathroom space in an unconventional layout, without sacrificing the period charm.
Sophie wanted to retain a touch of the traditional in her bathroom, but also bring in some more modern touches. We helped her realise this with a mix of brushed brass and white finished to mix contemporary with classic.
For a touch of tradition the Hampton range was a perfect choice for Sophie, offering shaker styling and ample storage. Paired with Keswick brushed brass taps and the dual function shower, Sophie created a coordinated look which still looks in keeping with her property.
The build wasn't without its challenges "We are listed and so we had to work with what we had in terms of the structure of the bathroom, including the flooring," Sophie told us "we built a shower niche and built a frame for the toilet. We also covered up old pipework and ensured it fitted in nicely with the vanity. It's a strange layout and we wanted to create a feature of the shower and the toilet."
