A Cosy, Feminine En-Suite Renovation

A loft conversion brought its own challenges: low ceilings and an awkward layout to work with. But Sophie's brief was clear from the start - an en-suite bathroom that felt feminine, fun, and like a treat to use every day. By reworking the layout and adding a statement Faber vanity unit in rich walnut with antique brass fixtures, Sophie's space now feels both spacious and luxuriously cosy, tailored entirely around her personal style.

The inspiration

"I take a lot of inspiration from items around me that I’m naturally drawn to, such as certain colours in my makeup bag I consistently reach for, to the jewellery I wear day to day. I wanted this room to reflect how I feel when getting ready for the day, so pulling inspiration from colours I love to be around made it feel very personal to me."

What was the brief for the renovation?

My main brief for this space was: feminine, fun and somewhere I would look forward to using every day - which I think we nailed! Pulling in the richness of dark wood in the vanity unit and antique brass fixtures gives the room a luxury, super feminine feel.

What was the main challenge with your old bathroom?

"The biggest challenge with this bathroom was redesigning the space and layout as it is a loft conversion room with fairly low ceilings, so making the room feel as big as possible was very important. We changed the layout slightly to maximise space and create a space that flows well, while still having the feel of a cosy en-suite bathroom."

What makes the biggest difference in your new bathroom?

"The addition of a big vanity unit has made a massive difference to the space, both for storage and usability of the room. I can now spend (a long) time getting ready in there, as all my beauty products can be neatly stored away."
