When Cara and her family moved into their home nearly four years ago, the bathroom stood frozen in time - likely unchanged since the 1950s. With no shower in the house and three growing boys, daily life revolved around the impracticality of bath-only routines. The quirky layout made designing a functional, modern space a challenge, but the transformation has been worth every effort. Today, the once-dated suite is a classy and sophisticated, practical haven that perfectly fits their busy family life.

Why did you decide to renovate your bathroom?

"We bought our house nearly four years ago and the bathroom was the only untouched space - the suite was from the 1950's we believe. The space needed to be modernised and aside from that we didn't have a shower in the house! We have three growing boys and it wasn't practical to be using a bath everyday. It is a bit of a quirky space so it was challenging to make things work but I love how it has turned out."

What's your favourite part about your new bathroom?

"I just love the shower. There is something about a huge shower head to gentle wash away the day! It is all such a calming space that is also practical for our large family of 5!"

What inspired your design choices?

"Our kitchen features similar colours and marble. For me I like a home that has a coherent aesthetic and so I wanted to incorporate some of the other aspects of the house in the bathroom design"
