Real Bathrooms
Grainne Gillett
A self renovator from Dublin, @grainnegillett has transformed her Victorian cottage into a pretty, girly and inviting home. Keen to create a glamourous bathroom haven, Gráinne chose the Keswick brushed brass shower, the Carrara marble topped Hampton vanity unit and Note sanitaryware.
The brief
One of the main priorities of the renovation was to create a bathroom, and only a beautiful bathroom would do. The style Gráinne wanted to achieve in the new bathroom was elegant and glamourous.
Before renovations
This Victorian cottage required a full gut renovation. When the house was purchased there was no actual bathroom. There was a small WC under the stairs and a shower cubicle in the kitchen!
The Carrara marble and chalk white vanity unity bring both softness and lightness, creating a contrast to the pink zellige wall tiles. The brush brass hardware adds a touch of glamour. The Thesis oval mirror finishes off the room perfectly.
The result
The renovation was a long and challenging process. There was a lot to pack into this small room, however meticulous planning along with the stylish finish help to create an inviting and attractive space.
