When the light sensor is exposed to sufficient levels of darkness, the noise sensor is activated and a sound loud enough (a click of the fingers or light clap of the hands is usually enough) will turn on the light. The light will last for 2 minutes before switching off automatically, it will then become inactive for 15 seconds before it can be reactivated. The light levels emitted are intended to provide a muted illumination only.
